Community interest in Busselton

It all started with one person. Mental Health First Aid Trainer Pauline (ex mental health clinician), heard of AAD through her networks. Using the stakeholder mapping resource Pauline reached out to recommended organisations in Busselton.
The first community meeting from that EOI, had representatives from Shire of Busselton, headspace, Lamp Inc, The Paperbark Project, Youth Care School Chaplain program, South West Community Alcohol and Drug Service (SWCADS) and local Mental Health First Aid Trainers around the table. AAD Trainer Maya, presented an introduction to AAD and the group had a robust discussion about what this would mean from them and who else needs to be involved.
They have already scheduled their next meeting this month to discuss next steps which will see more local parties involved.
We look forward to seeing how the Busselton proceed and it was also great to hear how passionate this community already is.
