Pharmacotherapies for Substance Use Disorders - Video Conferencing

The use of medications in the management of substance use disorders is an important component in the holistic approach to assisting individuals in their recovery from substance use problems. While medication assistance in the treatment of opioid dependence is well-established and supported, effective pharmacotherapies for other substance use disorders remains challenging.

This video conferencing presentation will review the medication treatments available and in use in WA including the well-established and the less established therapies, together with a brief overview of novel and emerging pharmacotherapies.

Target audience: AOD clinicians such as counsellors, nurses, psychologists, doctors, peer workers, and hospital based AOD clinicians.
