Bus of Hope documentary

Ahead of World Suicide Prevention Day on 10 September 2016, WA Primary Health Alliance launched Bus of Hope in partnership with Lifeline WA.

Bus of Hope is a documentary which follows a group of people from Leonora as they embark on a journey to Alice Springs, sharing their personal stories of how suicide has impacted their lives and their tight-knit community.

Country WA Primary Health Network Goldfields team collaborated with the Leonora community to attend the inaugural Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Suicide Prevention Conference in May 2017.

Together, experts and members of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and the wider community from across the country attended the conference in Alice Springs, the heart of the Aboriginal nations.

Over two days those gathered exchanged learnings, shared lived experiences, inspired one another and built knowledge as to how we can best strengthen communities to tackle this entrenched tragedy.

Watch this space to see what WA Primary Health Alliance has planned ahead of the 2nd National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Suicide Prevention and World Indigenous Suicide Prevention Conferences in November.
