Purpose

The Goldfields Consumer Engagement page is designed to support and reinforce the community engagement activities currently being undertaken in this region, including the Northern Goldfields Interagency meeting and the Youth Forum meetings.

Through these meetings participating organisations are committed to facilitating joint initiatives that help strengthen the community and improve the coordination of services in the region. It is recognised that Community, Local, State and Non-Government organisations input into discussion topics and initiatives is essential for strengthening the community and improving service coordination.

Objective

This page will give members of the community the opportunity to converse, share ideas and opinions, and reach decisions on pressing matters that may fall outside of the timelines of meetings, as well as receive regular updates from participating organisations.     It is important for women 40 years or over to have a FREE breast screening mammogram at least every two years. Early detection is your best protection.

    Women 50 to 74 years are invited to have a FREE screening mammogram. (All women 40 years and over are eligible).

    BreastScreen WA's mobile will be at: Ngangganawilli Health Centre, 44Scotia Street from 4th August -5th August 2021

    This is a free workshop for parents and carers of young children who have toileting or incontinence concerns.

    This workshop will provide you with:

    • The knowledge to better understand toileting.
    • Strategies to assist toilet training processes.
    • Practical tips to identify flags for any pathological issues that may affect regular toileting process.

    A workshop for anyone aged over 18, designed to increase awareness and understanding of grief and to develop the skills required to effectively support someone experiencing the pain of loss.

    Free three session parenting program for parents and carers of young children where you will learn how to:

    •Resolve difficult behaviour in children.

    • Discipline without arguing, yelling, or smacking.

    • Handle challenging and testing behaviours.

    • Choose appropriate strategies – the 3 choices model.

    • Use emotional coaching to encourage positive behaviour.


    This workshop is being facilitated by a parentshop licenced practioner and parents will receive:

    • A workbook to apply concepts learnt.

    • A certificate on completion of all 3 session (if requested).

    Wiring Kids work with families to meet their unique needs offering research-based workshops.

    They aim to support you in raising happy and resilient children, and adding to your parenting-skills toolbox. Zoom workshops are offered in an interactive manner, through group discussion and active participation. Workshops include practical strategies and tips that can be used in everyday parenting life.
