Purpose

The Goldfields Consumer Engagement page is designed to support and reinforce the community engagement activities currently being undertaken in this region, including the Northern Goldfields Interagency meeting and the Youth Forum meetings.

Through these meetings participating organisations are committed to facilitating joint initiatives that help strengthen the community and improve the coordination of services in the region. It is recognised that Community, Local, State and Non-Government organisations input into discussion topics and initiatives is essential for strengthening the community and improving service coordination.

Objective

This page will give members of the community the opportunity to converse, share ideas and opinions, and reach decisions on pressing matters that may fall outside of the timelines of meetings, as well as receive regular updates from participating organisations. This page supports meeting documents, highlights relevant news items and upcoming events and show cases good new stories..

    Harmony Week 2021 grants

    Applications deadline 4:00pm Monday 19 October 2020

    The Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries is offering grants of $2000 to support community-led diversity and inclusion activities celebrating Harmony Week in 2021.

    Activities with a focus on culture and arts and sport and active recreation are encouraged.

    Culture and arts activities must involve a professional artist or arts practitioner working with the community to design and deliver the activity.

    Sport and active recreation activities must involve the community participating in a primary activity requiring physical exertion and/or physical skill.

    BreastScreen WA KALGOORLIE annual mobile visit 2020

    BreastScreen WA’s FREE screening mammogram service is coming to Kalgoorlie from 28/10/2020 – 19/11/2020, and the mobile clinic will be located at Goldfields Individual & Family Support Association Inc. (GIFSA) carpark, 23 Federal Road. Women 50 to 74 years are invited to have a FREE screening mammogram. (All women 40 years and over are eligible).

    Breast cancer is the most common life threatening cancer for women and 1 in 7 women in Australia will develop breast cancer in their lifetime.

    There is no known safe amount of alcohol which can be consumed during pregnancy and it is the responsibility of the whole community to support alcohol free pregnancies.     Goldfields-Esperance Recovery Plan

    The Goldfields-Esperance Recovery Plan is part of the next step in our COVID-19 journey. It’s part of WA’s $5.5 billion overarching State plan, focused on building infrastructure, economic, health and social outcomes. The Goldfields-Esperance Recovery Plan will deliver a pipeline of jobs in sectors including construction, manufacturing, tourism and hospitality, renewable energy, education and training, agriculture, conservation and mining. WA’s recovery is a joint effort, it’s about Government working with industry together. We managed the pandemic together as a community. Together, we will recover.

    Regional Connectivity Program - Grant Opportunity

The Regional Connectivity Program (RCP) is a $53 million competitive grant opportunity to expand the economic, social and public safety benefits of improved digital connectivity to regional, rural and remote Australian communities.
