Purpose

The Goldfields Consumer Engagement page is designed to support and reinforce the community engagement activities currently being undertaken in this region, including the Northern Goldfields Interagency meeting and the Youth Forum meetings.

Through these meetings participating organisations are committed to facilitating joint initiatives that help strengthen the community and improve the coordination of services in the region. It is recognised that Community, Local, State and Non-Government organisations input into discussion topics and initiatives is essential for strengthening the community and improving service coordination.

Objective

This page will give members of the community the opportunity to converse, share ideas and opinions, and reach decisions on pressing matters that may fall outside of the timelines of meetings, as well as receive regular updates from participating organisations. This page supports meeting documents, highlights relevant news items and upcoming events and show cases good new stories..

    Emergency Relief and Food Access Service

    In response to COVID-19 and anticipated increases in the need for food and emergency relief over coming months, the Financial Counselling Network have launched the Emergency Relief & Food Access Service. Delivered by Anglicare WA on behalf of the Financial Counselling Network and supported by the Department of Communities and WACOSS, the Access Service provides a triage and assessment phone-line for access to food relief and financial support.

    Community Alcohol and Drug Perception Survey - 2020

    The Kalgoorlie-Boulder Local Drug Action Group (KBLDAG) has now launched of its third Community Alcohol and Drug Perception Survey for Kalgoorlie-Boulder, Coolgardie and Kambalda.

    This survey is open to all residents over the age of 16 and helps to guide the activities of KBLDAG with a clearer understanding of what our local community members see as the issues around alcohol and other drugs in our communities.

    Completing the survey gives everyone the opportunity to enter a draw for one of the following three prizes.

    The Australian Government has funded a dedicated helpline – the Disability Information Helpline – to provide accessible information, counselling and outreach services for people with disability who are concerned about or affected by coronavirus (COVID-19).

    The Disability Information Helpline is available for people with disability who need help because of coronavirus (COVID-19).

    The Helpline can help families, carers, support workers and services, too.

    The Helpline is free, private and fact-checked.

    Using iThink to respond to COVID-19 coronavirus challenges

    The Western Australian Government is implementing staged measures to slow the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus in the community and save lives.

    To respond to some of the particular challenges this has created, we are using iThink to harness the expertise of the Western Australian community and put bright ideas in front of the right people.
