The WA Healthy Weight Action Plan 2019-2024 (WA Healthy Weight Action Plan) is a joint initiative of WA Health, WA Primary Health Alliance (WAPHA), and Health Consumers' Council to create a roadmap for sustainable changes to support people and families who are at risk of, or are living with overweight and obesity.
WAPHA is seeking to develop a Healthy Weight GP clinical content working group which comprises relevant clinicians and external stakeholder bodies who will use their expertise and knowledge to inform the specific content of deliverables of the project, such as:
Selection of existing resources for use in general practice to assist with the identification, intervention and management of patients above a healthy weight range
Decisions on the types of tools and resources aiming to assist general practice clinicians to identify, intervene and manage patients who are above a healthy weight range
Input and selection of content suitable for an education package to assist general practice in the identification, intervention and management of patients who are above a healthy weight range
Decision, selection and input into the types of tools and resources to assist general practice to participate in weight management as a quality improvement activity
This project is supporting the implementation of the WA Healthy Weight Action Plan 2019 – 2024.
Healthy Weight Working Group
Nominations are invited from people who hold the following roles:
Psychologist (specialising in weight management and/or disordered eating)
Please complete the nomination form below by COB Thursday 11th February 2020. Successful nominees will be advised by Friday 19th February 2021.
