    Geraldton Local Drug Action Group are looking for volunteers who are passionate about reducing the harm that alcohol and other drugs has in our Geraldton community.

    The Geraldton Local Drug Action Group (LDAG) provide interactive activities and education to the Geraldton community around alcohol and other drugs by:

    • attending and organising local events
    • developing messages for local media
    • supporting other organisations

    The remote town of Meekatharra has its fair share of challenges, but having a say in the most appropriate primary care services is no longer one of them, thanks to the strong voice of the Meekatharra Aboriginal Reference Group (MARG).

    By working closely with MARG, WA Primary Health Alliance's Midwest team has been able to listen and respond to local needs by funding primary care services and health workers to deliver culturally appropriate, accessible and effective treatment and support.

    With the upcoming Easter holidays, this leaves all general practices closed for an extended period of time, which means that patients will not be able to access GP appointments during this time.

    To alleviate this issue, WA Primary Health Alliance are working with Telstra HealthNow to promote the 1800 Call A Doc after-hours service in the Midwest during this time. 1800 Call A Doc is a way for community members to access a doctor after-hours, when their usual practice is closed.
