SW Health Professionals Network Launch
On 26 June 2019, 156 health professionals gathered together in Busselton on a wet and windy night for the launch of the SW Health Professionals Network and the supporting portal through which regional health professionals can access local education and training, share research findings and opportunities, and engage with other health professionals. The Bunbury launch is planned to occur on 17 July 2019 at the Rose Hotel, 27 Wellington St, Bunbury at 5.30pm for a 6.00pm start. The South West Health Professionals Network has been developed by a collective of like-minded health agencies, including GP down south, Rural Health West, South West Aboriginal Medical Service, WA Country Health Service, WA General Practice Education and Training, WA Primary Health Alliance, and The Rural Clinical School of WA. The activity is supported by funding from the Australian Government through the PHN Program. The aim is to ensure that health professionals are well supported so that they are motivated to continue to work in the South West; and that they are better connected with other health professionals so that care being provided is more joined up, with the aim that greater continuity of care will improve health outcomes.
